My workflow removes backgrounds and places people animals or plants into a different scene, colors can be changed, smoothing out, reducing noise, 3‑D texturizing, or raised appearance and finishing effects. 
From a simple portrait to a complex collage, re-do of tables and charts. The 'wildebeest' I removed the background, cut out the image, made the 3d look" Please look through the images and each will explain how I got to that point.
